Location location location; Devonport!


Sick of living in the big smoke? Well we are!  Because we could not find the kind of home we were after it occurred to us there was a large block of land available in the exact location that we thought  would be just perfect. Minutes from the beach, adjoining a wooded reserve, only a few kilometers from CBD.  In 2010 we bought this large block of 3200sqm residentially zoned land on Surrey Street in Devonport, exactly where we envisioned living.

The previous owners had planned to subdivide it into 5 residential blocks. We orignially intended to keep the trees and build two homes amongst them. Unfortunately the bushfire danger was deemed too great for in a suburb and the council did not want to subdivide into two unless we pulled both ends of Surrey Street together which defeated the benefits of a bush block.

In the end we were advised to develop eight low maintenance and environmentally responsible homes and we can strata-tile the block with a long driveway on each end servicing 4 homes each.

Right now we decided to build the two most elevated homes on the Southern End as phase I. Buyers will have the option to also purchase the blocks below them. Phase II may be the building of the lower Southern homes or the building of the two elevated homes on the Northern side of the block.
